Smiling, Connor taunted, “Don’t try and test me because you won’t be able to find out anything. What I
said is the truth, and I can’t do anything if you don’t believe me. After all, you can take away my life at
any moment, so I don’t have to be impulsive and trick you. I wouldn’t put my life in jeopardy.”

Toby pursed his lips and stayed silent.
