I hailed a cab and went back to my apartment. A familiar-looking car came into my view before I even
got home, and Michael was standing right beside it.

Michael's unannounced visit only made me frown. Too much had happened that night, and he left in a

sorrow if we ever became strangers.



“Where is your ring? Didn't you accept Nicholas' proposal? So, where is the ring?”

At that moment, his gaze was locked on my finger, and the fury in his eyes dissipated a little. His tone
was a little more excited as well.

“I didn't want to lose it, so I kept it away.”

“I can't sleep with you here. If you want me to rest well, then please leave.”

“I can't sleep like this.”

I frowned and sat in front of him while glaring impatiently.

“If you can't sleep, then that must mean you're not tired. In that case, let's do something else.”



He approached me as he spoke, and my heart was thumping so fast that it felt as though each beat
