Chapter 11: Demand an Exorbitant Price

In the evening, Alice got the news and brought her eldest daughter-in-law, Lily, to the hospital.

When Alice saw Rebecca lying on the bed with a pale face, she immediately rushed over and cried her
heart out.

"My poor Rebecca, why did you suffer this again? I'm so worried about you."

"Rebecca, it's me, Lily.Open your eyes and look at me."

Lily who was pregnant, sat down beside the bed and shook Rebecca's hand violently.

Arthur took a cold glance at Alice and Lily who were acting nice people and turned around to leave.

"Hey, how could you leave without apology?"

Alice rushed over and stood in Arthur's way.

"My daughter is your son's wife, not a blood vessel.How could you be so mean to her?"

"What the hell did you say? It was you who forced your daughter to marry into my family.

If it hadn't been because Rebecca has the same blood type as Adam does, we wouldn't have accepted
her into my family,’ Julia retorted angrily.

"How could you say that? Doesn't my daughter match your son?"

Alice questioned with her arms crossed on her chest.

"Yeah, our Rebecca is so beautiful and capable.If she hadn't married Adam, Rebecca would have met
many excellent men!" Lily echoed.

Julia sneered, "Capable? Humph, why haven't I found it yet? I think you all..."



"Julia, enough of it" Arthur interrupted Julia.

He didn't want to argue with them.

"How much do you want this time?"

"Don't say anything offensive.We're family.It's reasonable to help each other, isn't it?"

Alice smiled when Arthur took the initiative to talk about the compensation.

"Bullshit!" Julia snorted.

"How much?"

Arthur knew what kind of person Alice was, so he didn't want to waste any time with her.

"Can you give me a million dollars this time? We are having a hard time recently.’ Alice asked.

"You asked for 10 million two months ago, and now you want another million.How valuable do you think
your daughter is?"

"Go get a check for a million dollars."

As soon as Julia finished speaking, Arthur instantly ordered the butler beside him.

Then in a second, he looked at Alice and said, "But this is the last time."

Arthur then left.

Julia looked at Alice and Lily, sneered disdainfully, and followed him out.

Alice stiffened as she watched them leave.



"Mom, this is the last time.Why did you just ask for a million dollars?"

Lily tugged at Alice and complained.

Alice came to her senses and immediately caught up with them.

She grabbed Arthur's sleeve and asked, "What did you mean by that?"

"Humph, if you say one more word, you will get nothing!"

Arthur shook off Alice's hand and strode away with a sullen face.

"Your daughter will never earn 11 million in her life!"

Julia sneered and left.

The next morning, Rebecca got up early and went to the hospital to see Adam.

He hadn't woken up yet.

Rebecca couldn't help but raise her hand to gently touch the wound on his handsome face.

She inexplicably burst into tears.

She did not even notice that her tears fell on the back of Adam's hand.

Perhaps because of her warm tears, Adam frowned and gradually opened his eyes.

When seeing Rebecca's small but pale face and her bright and teary eyes, he was a little shocked.

"Oh, you finally woke up!"

Rebecca immediately withdrew her hand and said with a smile, "I'll call doctor over for you."



However, just as she stood up, she felt dizzy and fell to one side.

Out of the blue, a big hand held her waist.

Suddenly, Adam frowned because his abdomen ached.

"Are you okay?"

Rebecca felt better and asked with worries.

"What a fool you are! Why not just ring the bell beside the bed?"

Adam shouted at Rebecca.

he nodded in a panic and immediately rang the call.

Soon, a doctor rushed in with some nurses to check on Adam.

There was still blood oozing out from his wide and long wound.

Adam just gritted his teeth and closed his eyes.

When the doctor finished examining Adam and treating the wound, Arthur and Julia arrived.

When seeing Adam who had woken up, Julia was happy, while Arthur looked composed.

"Sir, Madam, Adam is already out of danger.He needs some rest to recover gradually,’ the doctor
reported and left the ward with the nurses.

Julia heaved a sigh of relief.



"Adam, don't do such a foolish thing again, okay?"

"Mom, don't save me next time."

Adam remained indifferent and said coldly.

"Adam, don't go too far.Even if I can't do anything to you, I still have many ways to let Linda disappear
from this world"

Arthur was really irritated by Adam and roared.

His angry voice resounded in the ward.

Adam seemed to have only noticed Arthur was here.

He raised his eyes and looked at Arthur coldly, speaking in a low voice, "Fine, when Linda disappears
from this world, I'll disappear with her."

"Bang!"

Arthur kicked the table in front of the sofa.

Rebecca couldn't help but tremble with fear.

"Well, then let's wait and see who is more capable,’ Arthur shouted at Adam and left angrily.

“Arthur!"

Julia followed him out in a hurry, leaving Rebecca and Adam alone in the ward…
