Chapter 26

Rebecca cleaned up the mess, then simply cooked three dishes and came out of the kitchen.

It was already almost 10 p.m.

When the meal was ready, Adam carried Linda down the stairs without calling.

Seeing Rebecca standing by, rooted, Adam said, "Go get the rice.Why are you just standing there?"

His voice was neither cold nor angry.

He just said softly, probably afraid of scaring Linda in his arms.

"Okay."

Rebecca agreed and served them two bowls of rice.

Linda's right hand was injured and she couldn't hold the chopsticks herself, so Adam fed her.

"Adam, I can hold a spoon with my left hand . you don't need to feed me."

Linda smiled and said, with her voice clear and pleasant.

"Good girl, open your mouth!"

Adam didn't listen to her.

He took some food and brought it to her mouth.

"It seems that there's nothing to do.I'll go back to my room.”

After saying this, Rebecca stood up to leave.



"Rebecca, I'm sorry.I've hurt my hand.The doctor said I should keep away from water, so can you help
me wash my clothes these days?"

Rebecca was about to leave when Linda turned to talk to her.

Rebecca looked at her, smiled, and said, "Okay;" then asked, "What else can I do for you?"

"Uh..."

Linda tilted her head and thought about it.

"No, Adam could help me if I want to take a shower or wash my hair."

"Okay,"

Rebecca replied again, then turned around and walked to her room without stopping or looking back.

Back in her room, she took a quick shower and washed her hair.

She had long hair.

It was troublesome to wash and blow it.

Rebecca looked at herself in the mirror and decided to cut her hair short tomorrow.

After blowing her hair, she quickly went to do her own thing.

She really had a lot of things to do and a lot of data to analyze.

"Knock, knock..."

"Rebecca, we have finished our meal.Please clean up the dishes!"



"Okay!"

When Rebecca heard the sound outside, she answered loudly but did not move.

She was using excel for data analysis and continued to work on her own things.

Outside, Linda heard Rebecca say yes, then went upstairs with Adam.

Rebecca was busy with her work.

Until she finished all the data analysis, she stopped and took a deep breath.

Then she looked at the time.

It was already twelve thirty in the morning.

Rebecca didn't have the habit of staying up late.

No matter how busy she was with her studies or how much work she had to do, she could arrange her
time properly-- went to bed early and got up early.

But obviously, it was very late tonight, so she quickly powered off her computer, washed her face.

Then she was about to go to bed.

However, when she reached the bed and was about to lie down, she suddenly remembered that after
Adam and Linda finished eating, the dirty dishes were still in the dining room.

Rebecca closed her eyes and held her forehead, unhappily.

But she adjusted her mood in a short time and went out to clean up the dishes.



Unexpectedly, when she went out of the room to the dining room, she saw a white light in the living
room.

It came from the TV.

The voice of the host was not loud, but Rebecca could hear it clearly from her position.

Just considering that Adam and Linda forgot to turn off it, Rebecca went straight to the living room and
planned to turn off the TV.

"By the way, have you read the latest 'Finance and Economics’ magazine that just came out today?
There is a paper on ‘digital economy transformation and management innovation’ written deeply and
interestingly.The paper is based on the three core points of the new economy, new vision, and new
model."

"Yes, I did.It's quite good.It's practical and meaningful.Besides, I also asked about the author of this
thesis.She is a student named Rebecca, from the School of Economics at New York University.She
would start her second year of postgraduate studies this year."

When Rebecca steps into the living room, she heard more and more familiar words from the male host
and guest.

She stopped and looked up at the huge TV screen on the wall.

It was a replay of the latest episode of "Dialogue" on the financial channel.

The male host and guest were talking and laughing on the screen.

However, she saw a man sitting on the sofa, watching this program.

The man noticed the sound behind him and turned around.



In the dim light, Rebecca saw the crystal eyes.

"Really? Male or female?"

"Un? Are there any differences between male and female students to you?"

"Of course there is.There's a big difference.If it's a female student, then I would find a chance to see
her ina hurry.’ "If it's amale student, you will not do this?"

"I won't go by myself.Let my assistant go."

"Haha, Mr.MacArtney, you are definitely treating them differently.If I were that male student named
Rebecca, I would not talk to you."

The host and the guest were still chatting and laughing, but Rebecca's breath was slightly stifled.

She could feel her heart leap.

After ten seconds looking straight at Adam, she turned around and walked towards the dining room.

When she arrived at the dining room and turned on the lights, she found the table was still ina mess.

Rebecca sighed faintly and began to roll up her sleeves and wash those dishes.

She did the work quickly and efficiently.

When all was done, she put all the things to wash into the dishwasher and wiped the table with a clean
rag.

Until there was no oil on the table made of solid wood and natural marble worth about hundreds of
thousands of dollars, Rebecca finally finished her work.



Then, she went straight back to her room, washed her hands and went to bed.

Adam sat on the sofa in the living room with his left leg on the right leg, his elbow on his left thigh, and
his fingertips on his chin.

He looked at the TV screen for a moment, but could only hear the noise from the dining room and the
kitchen.

Until the noise there disappeared, there was a sound of the door closing.

Then, the whole world quieted down in an instant.

Even though the voices of the host and guest were still coming from the TV screen, Adam did not seem
to hear a word.

He sat there for a long time.

When the replay ended, it was already one in the morning.

He turned off the TV, got up, and walked to the second floor.

When entering the bedroom, Adam went to bed and hugged Linda tightly.

Linda was awakened by him and called him in a daze, "Adam..."

Adam lowered his head and kissed her fiercely …
