Heavy Heart

After Dr. Lucas confirmed that Estie had no abnormalities, he did not stay too long and left before
dinner.

Byron sat in the study for a while. He took out his mobile phone and called Miss Leigh Ann.

This morning, he had sent Estie to the kindergarten. Even if the little one had been left alone, she must
have left from the kindergarten.

Miss Leigh Ann should know what had happened during this period.

On the other line, as soon as the teacher received the call, she was very nervous and came clean
about everything that happened.

“…After I dropped Estie off, I left. Miss Jacobs said that she would send Estie back. Hasn’t she sent
Estie back?”

Without President Lawrence’s consent, she took Estie to Lucian and Nox’s house without permission
and then left the little one there.

home alone…

“Yes, she’s sent her back.” Byron’s dark eyes were dark. “How’s Nox’s situation? ”



Miss Leigh Ann learned that Rosalie had sent the little one back, so she was secretly relieved, she
quickly answered, “He’s alright now. He’ll be back in class in the next two days.”

Byron replied in a deep voice, “I see. I’m sorry to trouble you.”

Miss Leigh Ann apologized to him for a long time before hanging up.

After hanging up the phone, Byron deeply thought about what Miss Leigh Ann said just now. His heart
was conflicted.

He had not seen the woman since the last time he met her in the cafe.

He did not know what his mother said to her that day, but he could see that the woman did not want to
see him again now.

So much so that he only knew that Nox was ill, but nothing more. He did not know a single detail about
his recovery. Even if he called to ask, Rosalie might not tell him.

He frowned, finding it ironic.

According to Miss Leigh Ann, Rosalie was the one who brought the little one home today.

With her temperament, she would not have just dropped the little girl off halfway.

Therefore, she would have sent Estie to the gate of the manor but she did not come in. That was why
she was out of Mrs. Zora’s sight.

The woman was still avoiding him.

Thinking of this, Byron pinched his brows irritably.

There was a knock on the study door followed by Mrs. Zora’s cautious voice. “Master, it’s time to eat.”



Byron put away his thoughts, answered in a deep voice, got up, and strode out of the room. He went to
get Estie.

The little girl quickly walked out of the room. Besides looking a little down, she did not look any
different.

Byron slowed down and walked behind the little girl with a heavy heart.

The little guy went to Rosalie’s house today. It stood to reason that she should be very happy, but she
came home in this state, what did Rosalie say to the little one?

Did the woman not give her word that she would not involve the child in their matters?

Byron sat down beside the little girl and asked casually, “where did you go today?”

Her movements were slow, she looked down and shook her head, indicating that she did not wish to

Just when he was confused, the little girl suddenly tugged on his cuff.

He bowed his head in disbelief.

“I want to eat veggies.” Estie looked at her father pitifully and pointed to the green vegetables that were
a little far away from her.

Hearing this, a look of astonishment flashed across Byron’s eyes.

Since her disappearance, this was the first time the little one had spoken to him. Besides, what she
wanted had nothing to do with Rosalie.
