The office was empty, and Rosalie was the only one there.

Rosalie turned on the computer and thought of continuing her understanding of congenital diseases in

Rosalie took a hold of the phone and glanced at it. when she saw the incoming call, she felt a faint
headache. After hesitating for a while, she answered it at last.

“Rosalie, how’s the preparation going?”

As soon as she answered the call, Leon’s voice echoed through.

Rosalie suppressed her feelings and answered softly, “I’m still trying to understand the Lancer family’s
research direction. How about you?”

Leon chuckled. “It’s almost the same for me, but this time, I’m going there intending to learn new
things, so I’m not preparing much.”



The two of them briefly talked about the contents that they learned. Leon then immediately mentioned,
“The free clinic is this week. It seems that the location is on the outskirts. Shall I go pick you up and we
can head there together?”

Rosalie had agreed to go together before this, but when she heard Leon mention it once again, she
somehow thought of Byron’s angry expression.

A few moments later, Rosalie pressed on her faintly aching temples and said apologetically, “Senior,
after thinking about it, I think I’ll go there myself.”

As he heard this, Leon frowned a little, “what’s the matter? I thought we agreed on going together?”

Rosalie replied, “Just now, when I went to see old Master Quirke to get the recommendation letter, I
found out that the Martins and the Lancers are friends, old Master Quirke also hopes that I’ll go
together with you so that it’ll be easier for me to befriend the Lancer family. But I intend to rely on my
capabilities to make them notice me, so…”

This was an excuse that she hastily came up with and was also something she thought of when she
was at the Quirkes’ house.

When she heard Andrius mention to the old master the relationship between the Martins and Lancers,
Rosalie felt fortunate. At the same time, she did not think this was what she wanted.

If she could establish a relationship with the Lancer family through the help of Leon, they might even
prioritize her when choosing a partner.

The downside to this was that the Lancer family would inevitably give her special treatment during the
free clinic, which meant she might not be able to showcase her full capabilities.

Rosalie hoped that she could depend on her capabilities and earn the Lancer family’s approval.



Upon hearing her reply, Leon was silent for a while before replying with a laugh, “I understand. You can
go ahead with your plans, then. But don’t act like you don’t know me when we’re there.”

He understood Rosalie’s personality very well. He knew that she never liked to rely on others. At the
same time, Leon was sure of her capabilities and trusted that her medical skills were enough to be
favored by the Lancers.

Therefore, Leon was not taken aback by Rosalie’s rejection.

Rosalie pursed her lips and smiled. “Sure.”

“If you need any help, you can look for me anytime. Although I may not be as good as you in holistic
medicine, I can still give you some insights,” Leon reminded again.

Rosalie agreed with a smile.

The two then chatted for a while before hanging up.

Rosalie’s mood finally got back on track, she thoroughly studied all the information before getting off
work.
