Chapter 449

Don’t Forget To Pick Up

As soon as Rosalie walked into the entrance of the research institute, she saw Yves standing at the
entrance.

The man was lost in his thoughts as he leaned against the wall staring blankly. He did not even see her
coming in.

Rosalie went over and called out to him curiously, ” Dr. Graham, what’s on your mind?”

Yves jolted slightly. It was obvious that he was startled. His eyebrows twitched, then he came back to
his senses and straightened up to face her. “You guys finished chatting so soon?”

Rosalie smiled and nodded. “Leon also plans to participate in the Lancer family’s free clinic in two days.
We had a brief chat and agreed to go together.”

Yves’ eyes flashed with loneliness when he heard that.

When he saw Rosalie and Leon standing side by side that noon, Yves lost his appetite during lunch, so
he simply took two bites before driving back and waiting for Rosalie at the door.

As he waited for her, he unconsciously thought of the gap between himself and Rosalie.

Now that he knew that Rosalie was going to participate in the free clinic with Leon, he felt even farther
away from Rosalie.

Yves suppressed the unbearable feeling in his heart and smiled at Rosalie as if nothing had happened.
” It’s good for you to go together. You’ll have a companion.”



Rosalie did not think much about it. she only thought that he felt at a loss because he could not
participate in the free clinic. Rosalie patted his arm to console him. “Don’t overthink it. You’re also
excellent, but the number of spots requested by the Lancer family is limited. Otherwise, we would’ve
been able to go together.”

Yves forced a smile. “It’s alright. It doesn’t matter whether you or I go. We’d both be representing the
research institute.”

After saying that, he did not wait for Rosalie to respond. He hurriedly said something to her before
going back to the office by himself.

Rosalie was puzzled when she watched Yves hurriedly turn his back, but she did not think much about
it and returned to the office with her bag.

Later in the afternoon, when they met in the experimental area, Yves was obviously less chatty than
before. He also seemed absent-minded during the experiment.

Rosalie did not probe and silently took over his work.

When he got off work in the evening, Yves regained his senses. He reflected upon his performance in
the afternoon and apologized to Rosalie. “I’m so sorry, I wasn’t myself in the afternoon. I’ll make sure to
adjust my mind after tonight.”

Rosalie smiled with understanding. “It’s okay.

Anyone can have a bad day. If you need someone to talk to, I’m free any time.”

Yves was stunned for a few seconds, then frowned inexplicably. “Alright, I’ll call you if I need an ear.”



The two of them talked and left the institute together.

Rosalie glanced at the time. School time should not be over yet.

If she hurried over to pick up the two little boys, she might make it in time.

Moreover, she also wanted to see Estie. She wondered if the little one was in a better mood now.

However, she thought about the free clinic in the coming two days and did not dare to take the risk.

After some consideration, Rosalie called Nanny Lisa.

Lisa was about to go out to pick up Lucian and Nox when she suddenly received a call from Rosalie,
she was puzzled. “Miss Jacobs, what’s the matter? Do you want to pick up Lucian and Nox instead?”

At this time, she could not think of anything else.

Rosalie was stunned for a moment. “No, it’s just… Don’t forget to pick them up.”

Lisa smiled and said, “I’ve been picking them up these few days. How could I forget such an important
task?”

Rosalie also thought she was acting funny as she did not know what she was thinking. She called Lisa
for nothing.
