“I overheard the ER doctors say they’re sending a female prisoner to the gynecology department to
wait for her pregnancy results.

“So, she’s pregnant. That’s so lucky of her. The baby in her stomach saved her.

“But she’s not showing yet. I guess she’s only one or two months pregnant…”

Adina turned and looked at Duke, who was standing beside her, when she heard what everyone
around her was saying

Duke hurriedly explained himself.

“Not mine. This has nothing to do with me.”

Adina’s lips twitched.

‘If Dew is pregnant, how is it possible that the baby is not Duke’s…?

‘After all, Dew stayed in the Winters family’s mansion as the children’s mother. She comes and goes
freely in the mansion. She even has a room there just for her clothes…’

When Duke noticed Adina looking upset, he swore an oath, “Addy, I swear I’ve never touched Dew. Her
pregnancy has nothing to do with me!”

Adina was amused when she saw how earnest Duke was in swearing his oath.

‘There is nothing between us. We are only together because of our children. There’s no need for him to
give me any explanation.’



Just as she was about to speak, she sensed someone was looking at her with an intense gaze.

When she looked in that direction, she saw Dew, who had sat up on the hospital bed, glaring at her
murderously. ‘Hmph!’ Dew snorted in her heart. When she looked up, she changed her expression and
showed a benign smile. “The ward is a little stuffy. Can I go for a walk?”

The two policewomen who came with her said coldly, “I thought you had a stomachache?”

“I’m okay now. I just want to go for a walk. This is a military hospital, and there are police everywhere.
There’s no way I can escape, right?” The policewoman dismissed her impatiently. Dew cradled her
stomach as she slowly walked down the corridor.

“You’re here to see me making a fool out of myself, aren’t you?” She stood in front of Adina and Duke,
looking at them with her chin up. “Well, I’m so sorry to disappoint!” Her hand remained on her
stomach.

“I’m pregnant. I have a baby in my stomach. I’m sure you know how lenient the law is toward a
pregnant woman.

“Duke Winters, what did you say again? You’ll make sure that I stay in prison for the next fifteen years,
didn’t you? Let me tell you this, that won’t happen! I’m the first prisoner in recent years to be found
pregnant before being put in prison. The citizens in Sea City will cause a ruckus. By then, all media will
have their eyes on the court case. There’s nothing that the Winters family can do! I will only be sent to
jail for five years once the judge passes the sentence fairly. Now that I’m pregnant, who knows, I might
get out of there within three years, and it’s all thanks to the baby in my stomach. He saved me…”

Adina sneered, “I feel bad for the baby in your stomach. He needs to stay in jail with his mother.”

“How about your children? Don’t you feel bad for them, too?” Dew cackled.
