“Daddy, when can we go home?"

"We need to wait till I settle things here first, then Daddy will take you all home.” Duke Scooped the
children up in his arms in one sweeping motion.

Alden squirmed.

“Daddy, Mommy's been through a lot, you have to treat Mommy better from now on.” Duke stroked his
head.

“Of course!” Seeing her husband hugging the children , Adina's eyes welled up in tears.



It was an ordinary thing, so why was she moved by this? The children had woken up in the middle of
the night, now they felt sleepy again.

Duke made two trips to their rooms to tuck them into their beds.

It was getting quite late.

"I'm sorry Addy, I have to go.” Duke pulled the woman into an embrace.

His voice was hoarse.

"Give me a week to settle things with the Black Party matters.Please take care of the children in the
meantime.Don’t worry about me.” Adina nodded.

“Then I'll wait another week for you.” Duke placed an affectionate kiss on her forehead and leapt down
from the balcony window.

His tall figure soon disappeared down the street.

Adina stared into the pitch-black night sky, silently praying in her heart that everything would go well.

As soon as Duke arrived at the gates of the Black Party’s mansion located in the central area, he saw a
person pacing nonstop outside.

He glanced at the time.

It was four in the morning.

'Why is she here at this hour?' He slowly approached the person.

At the sound of his footsteps, the person at the entrance suddenly looked up in disbelief.



“Terry North, why are you out here? Where were you?”

“Miss Isabelle, do you think I am obligated to answer your question?” The man’s voice was as icy as
the chill in the early morning wind.

“Your father is in prison awaiting his trial, are you here to accompany him?”. Isabelle shuddered.

A few days ago, when her father and Elder Dorien were transporting firearms, they were intercepted by
Terry.

There had been a clash.

In the end, her father and Elder Dorien were arrested.Her father was very old, there was no way he
could survive in a gloomy and cold prison.She had to get him out of there.She could not sleep the
whole night, so she had decided to wait here.

"Terry, those firearms were all bought by Elder Dorien, they had nothing to do with my father,” Isabelle
hissed.

“ If you let my father go,I will agree to anything."

"What right do you think you have to be discussing terms with me?” Terry arched his brow, giving off a
cold disposition.

"After my father was imprisoned, his subordinates all came under my command,” Isabelle said through
