Ruth wore an off–shoulder pink dress, looking youthful.

She lowered her head slightly. Her cheeks were flushed, obviously a little shy.

She followed Daniel into the cafe. She did not dare to look into his eyes when they sat down opposite
each other. She lowered her head and took out a gift box.

“Mr. Jones, this is a gift from me. I hope you like it.”

Daniel was stunned. He had not expected her to bring him gifts. He initially did not want it, but at that
moment, he could not bring himself to reject it.

‘I have a few gifts with me, too. If I were to reject her gifts, she might reject mine, too. I‘ll be in trouble
later on.

“Thank you, Ms. Willis.”

He took the gift and put it on the table.

Ruth blinked and said, “Don‘t you want to see what‘s in it?”

Daniel suddenly felt a rush when he saw those eyes.

He coughed and shifted his gaze to the gift box. It was a black tie, embellished with diamond–shaped
plaids. The design looked fashionable and unique.

“I like it,” he said genuinely.



“That’s great.” Ruth looked happy as she smiled happily. “Mr. Jones, you don’t have to call me Ms.
Willis. You can call me Ruth.”

“Ms. Ruth…”

“Mr. Jones, you don’t have to call me Miss. It sounds as if we’re strangers.”

He coughed and said, “Ruth, you don’t have to call me Mr. Jones, too. Call me Daniel.”

“You look like you’re older than me, aren’t you?” Ruth’s eyes lit up.

“Nice to meet you, Daniel.”

She reached out her hand generously.

Daniel raised his hand too.

The two of them shook hands, and they felt a rush in their hearts, as if an electric current had spread
from their palms to their hearts.

The atmosphere suddenly felt awkward. He lowered his head and took out a few gifts.

“I’ve also picked some gifts for you. Have a look and let me know if you like it.”

“Daniel, why did you buy me gifts again?” Ruth said firmly, “You‘ve given me too many things. I can‘t
take anything more from you anymore. Take them back with you.”

He already had a plan in mind. “If you don‘t accept this, I‘ll give you back the tie you gave me, too.” She
pouted, and could only compromise. “Alright, then. But this will be the last time, okay? Don‘t give me
any more gifts the next time we go on a date.”



‘Date.‘

Daniel felt a warm, fuzzy feeling in him. He looked at her again. She was a bright and charming girl.
Her frowns and smiles were very vivid.

Over the past four years, the Jones family has fallen apart. Aunt Zhenny and Jasmine have moved out
of the Jones family‘s mansion. Grandpa is bedridden, and Father has spent this whole time trying to
look for Adina...

There is no joy in the Jones family.

‘If I were to bring Ruth home, the mansion would become lively again.‘
