Chapter 1019

Ruth entered the apartment.

She wore a star–studded dress, diamond earrings on her ears, the Heart of the Ocean around her
neck, and a bracelet with vivid colors on her wrist, making her look radiant. Her eyes were alight with
excitement.

Her face flushed. She pursed her lips and smiled coquettishly from time to time, like a teenage girl.

She then noticed there were people in the living room. She hurriedly wiped off the smile on her face
and coughed. “Brady, Deena, what are you guys looking at?”

Adeena frowned, “What are you wearing? Where have you been?”

“No... Nowhere!”

She lowered her head guiltily.

All because she had swiped Adeena‘s invitation, she had been able to sneak into the banquet hall and
meet a perfect man. .

“Ruth, why do you look like that? Where did you go?” Brady had a headache. “What am I supposed to
tell Aunt Jada?”

“I didn‘t do anything. There‘s nothing to tell her.” Ruth

snorted, “Well, you are drunk. If Aunt Hailey were to know this, she‘ll definitely scold you. Mind your
own business.” She took off her high heels and changed into her house shoes before closing the
bedroom door behind her.



She sat at the dresser, admiring herself in the mirror.

‘My night must‘ve been much better than Deena‘s.‘

Suddenly, there was a knock on her door. She quickly took off the Heart of the Ocean and hid it in the
drawer, and said in a loud voice, “Come in.”

Adeena opened the door and walked in. She then said in a cold voice, “If you were to do something
that dishonors the Willis family in Sea City, I won‘t take it for you.”

‘Even though I don‘t have much experience in romantic relationships, I can tell that Ruth went to see
another man.

‘A woman will only smile so sweetly when she has been on a date with a man she likes.

‘But this is only our first day in Sea City, and a man has asked her out already. Ruth must‘ve done
something in secret...‘

“Whatever I do will never embarrass the Willis family!” Ruth snorted. “You‘re just jealous of me, aren’t
you?” Adeena smiled, “Why should I be jealous of you?”

“Look at these earrings and bracelets. Someone gave them to me.” Ruth could not help but boast. “He
loved me at first sight. He gave me a dress and two pieces of jewelry. They cost more than two million
dollars...”

“Nothing comes free in this world.” Adeena said indifferently, “He gave you something worth two million
dollars. I‘m sure he wants something more than that from you. Keep your wits about you, okay?” After
she was done speaking, she turned and left the room. I‘ve given her the advice. It doesn‘t matter what
choice she makes after this.‘



“Hmph!”

Ruth sat by her bed, rubbing the bracelet on her wrist over and over again.

‘Mr. Jones looks like an elegant young man. He‘s so gentle, I don‘t think he‘ll deliberately deceive me...’
On the next day, Adeena was already up before the sun came out. She dressed up a little and took a
cab to Winters Corporation. Other than wanting to have a detailed discussion with the person in charge
of the corporation , she also wanted to find a way to change her job position.

‘If it‘s possible, I don‘t want to be Duke Winters‘ secretary.

There will be no turning back if I were to throw myself into the lion‘s den.‘

The cab stopped in front of Winters Corporation. Adeena adjusted her clothes before walking in.

She went to the receptionist and asked, “I‘m here to discuss a business contract with Mr. Wilson.”

“Do you have an appointment...?” The receptionist raised her head. She was stunned before she could
finish speaking
