The secretary led Serene towards the meeting room.

She thought that the meeting room would be crowded. But after the door was opened, she only saw
three people in there.She frowned, sensing that something was not right.

“Who are you? Where‘s Adina Daugherty?” Jasmine stood up and asked coldly.

Serene took a deep breath and said, “I‘m Serene Reyes, Ms. Daugherty‘s assistant. I‘m here today to
attend the meeting on her behalf.”

“Heh, now she knows her place as one of the mice living in the gutter. Is that why she doesn‘t dare to
meet us?” Jasmine sneered and mocked, “Isn‘t she a very capable woman? Without the Winters family,

Serene looked at the bright red seal on the document. It was indeed the official final verdict.

Serene felt the heat on her cheek as she reeled in disbelief.



She had not expected them to hit her.She was slapped in the face in broad daylight, in a society ruled
by law.

“Ms. Reyes, go back and tell Ms. Daugherty that she can either pay ten times the commission for the
liquidated damages or see us in court.” Zhenny tossed the compensation plan to Serene and said
calmly, “Guards, you can send Ms. Reyes out now.”

Two bodyguards at the door of the meeting room came in and forcefully dragged Serene out.

Serene looked at the three people in the room angrily as she swung her hands and left.

“Jas, you shouldn‘t have acted so rashly. Think about the consequences of your action,” Benny said in
disapproval.

“Uncle Benny, there‘s nothing to be afraid of. She only works for Adina, and right now, she‘s a nobody!”
Jasmine mocked, “A month ago, she was married into the Winters family and became the glorious
