Adeena nodded. “Thank you, Mr. Winters.”

Duke turned around and opened the door of the wardrobe.

Adeena was stunned for a moment.

The whole wardrobe was filled with women’s clothing.

The clothes in this wardrobe should be the clothes of the matriarch of this mansion, since it was in the
master bedroom.

The matriarch had been missing for four years, yet everything of hers was still kept in the

room.

‘This man must love his wife very much, so why does he want to court me, then…?‘

Adeena pursed her lips and cast the strange thoughts out of her mind.

“The clothes here belonged to your wife, don’t they? Mr. Winters, I’d rather not cause any trouble.”
Adeena smiled. “I’ll go buy some clothes at the mall.”

Duke understood what Adeena was thinking.

Even though these were clothes she had worn before, he had no idea how to explain it to her. “There
are some new clothes in Harold’s room. I’ll bring one for you.”

He turned around and went to the next room. He picked out a loose, casual dress and brought it over.

“Thank you,” Adeena said softly.



“You’d better take a shower,” Duke suggested, “The smell of the chicken soup is a little strong.”

Adeena did not know what to say.

She sniffed herself, and indeed, the chicken soup aroma was overwhelming.

She walked into the bathroom and locked the door twice before she took off her clothes and showered.

She did not dare take too long, so she just rinsed herself down before she put on the clothes.

She raised her hand up, but could not reach the bath towel hanging on the wall.

She was not wearing a single article of clothing. If this man came inside, she would be seen naked!

“You must’ve tripped and fallen,” Duke said in a low voice, “The floor is cold, you can’t sit there for so
long. I’ll come in and carry you out.”

“No!”

Her words barely came out when Duke unlocked the bathroom door with his key.

Water vapor filled the bathroom, and Adeena’s snow–white could be vaguely seen through it. Duke’s
gulped hard.

He shut his eyes. “I won’t look.”

He walked over, bent down, and picked the woman up.

Adeena wanted to struggle, but her calf was cramping up, and she could not do anything. Thus, she
could only let the man carry her out of the bathroom and lay her on the bed carefully.

She quickly yanked the quilt up to cover her body.

Only then did Duke open his eyes. “Which leg is cramping? Stretch it out.



“What are you going to do?” Adeena observed him vigilantly.

“I’ll give you a massage. Otherwise, you’ll still be in pain when you walk.” Without waiting for her to
argue with him, Duke tugged her right leg out.

Adeena blurted out without thinking, “It’s not the right leg.”
