Her features were delicate and decent. She looked even more elegant and radiant with heavy makeup.
Her face was gorgeous and dazzling as if she had just stepped out of a painting.

Sophia felt more jealous, and she said with a fake smile,” Now I realize that pregnancy before marriage
is inheritable . No wonder people always say, like mother, like daughter. Addy, you and your mother
really come from the same family,”

Slap!

Halfway through her sentence, a crisp slap rang out on her cheek.

Sophia widened her eyes in disbelief.

“Are you crazy, Adina? How dare you slap me?!”

She was about to rush over with her arms raised, but Richard yelled, “You just came to make a fool of
yourself. Why do I have a daughter like you? Ethan, send her back to the Gardner family!”

Ethan quickly went forward. He pressed down Sophia‘s arms and softly said, “Sophia, there are many
people here today. Don‘t cause trouble. I‘m sending you home.”

Adina rubbed her slightly numb fingertips and nonchalantly said, “Ethan, let go of her. Let her mess
with me. We‘ll see if I‘m more embarrassing or she is.”

Sophia was furious.

This was not Adina‘s first time slapping her. It was fine the last time because it was in the Xavier
family‘s mansion, so it was not that embarrassing.



However, countless eyes were watching them in public now. She was Mrs. Gardner, and her own
cousin actually slapped her.

“Everyone knows that you hate me, but as a junior, you shouldn‘t talk badly about my mother,” Adina
said indifferently.

“I have two bottom lines. The first is my kids, and the second is my mother. Do you remember them
clearly?”

Her condescending tone was filled with an implied threat, which enraged Sophia even more.

Before she could curse back, Ethan pulled her away.” Sophia, don‘t make a fuss here. The bigger the
fuss you make, the worse it will be for you. The Gardner , Xavier, Jones, and Winters families will
despise you.”

Ethan put Sophia in the car and drove away. Mdm. Xavier shook her head and sighed.

“Sophia is getting more and more unreasonable. Ever since she married into the Gardner family, she
no longer sides with the Xavier family.”

Richard said, “I asked her to get an early divorce, but she refused. If this goes on, I don‘t know what will
become of her in the future.”

Adina did not want to show too much concern about Sophia‘s matter.

She supported Mdm. Xavier into the venue. As soon as they reached the entrance, Dillon quickly went
out to receive them. He was welcoming the guests inside when he heard from a servant that something
had happened at the entrance. Feeling upset, he suddenly felt that he should have waited at the
entrance and personally brought Addy in.

“Addy, are you alright?” Dillon greeted Adina first before he looked at the Xavier family members.



“Mdm. Xavier, Mr. Xavier, thank you for coming.”

Mdm. Xavier looked at Dillon closely.She did not understand why her well–behaved daughter had
gotten involved with Dillon before getting married.

However, it had happened more than two decades ago, so she did not have to question Dillon about it.

Dillon then led Mdm. Xavier and Adina into the banquet hall.

Adina thought that other Jones family members would not attend. Unexpectedly, she saw Mr. Jones
and Zhenny, as well as Jasmine, greeting the guests.

Due to Mr. Jones’ presence, the reunion banquet was held on a big scale. Almost half of the noble and
reputable rich ladies in Sea City were there.

As soon as Adina walked in through the door, nearly everyone cast their sights on her.

There were two scars on the face of the former most beautiful woman in Sea City as the news said.

The scars were slightly faded thanks to her makeup, but they still made her gorgeous face a little less
pretty.

People in the banquet hall subconsciously started whispering into each other‘s ears.
