Tim did not satisfy Evelyn's vanity. Instead, he said, "Evelyn."

"Yes?" Evelyn answered.

"You are pretty."

Tim suddenly turned around and smiled.

Evelyn got lost in Tim's smile.

Tim had worn a long face.

He arrived at Fernanda's home.



The house could be considered a nice place in the slum.

Tim knocked on the door and could hear Fernanda's voice.

"Come in."

When Tim opened the door and entered, he noticed a strong medicinal smell filling the entire room.

Fernanda was serving a middle-aged woman to take medicine.

Evelyn always said that Fernanda was fond of Tim. Tim never cared. He knew that many women liked
him. He once thought that Fernanda was doing this out of gratitude. But now he didn't think so.

If Fernanda wasn't here, Tim might still have some goodwill towards her. But since she was here, Tim
went straight to the point.

"Where is my mother?" Tim asked.

Fernanda was stunned.

"What are you talking about?" She asked.

"Stop playing dumb. I don't care why you become her stooge. I'll give you two choices. First, tell me
what the poison is and the method to cure Nicole. I'll keep you safe. Second, tell me where my mother
is and I'll let you go."

Tim's unfriendly attitude made Fernanda uncomfortable.

How could he talk to her like that?

In the past, he was so good and always spoke softly to her. But now, why did he change?

'Was it Evelyn?'

'Yes!'

'It must be that woman!' Fernanda thought.

Fernanda looked down and felt resentful. But she said with innocence, "I really don't know what you're
talking about."



"Are you still playing dumb before me? This whole slum was bought by my mom. Few people know
about this. If you weren't here, I might not suspect that you work for her. But you live here. You also
know Nicole's plate number and my schedules. I don't believe that a poor college student like you can
find out so much information. Moreover, when you gave Viola the poison, there were CCTV cameras at

Fernanda held her hands tightly. She bit her lip and asked word by word, "Do you want to know what
happened to Nicole? I can tell you. But I have conditions."

"Tell me."

Tim's voice was incomparably indifferent.

Fernanda suffered the pain and looked up. She mustered up her courage and said, "I want you to
divorce Evelyn and stay with me. Then I'll tell you about Nicole's poisoning."

"Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

Tim became furious.

He grabbed Fernanda's neck and said fiercely, "Do you really think I don't dare to kill you?"

Tim also thought of what Evelyn said before.

Evelyn did tell him that Fernanda had a crush on him not long ago.

This was the second time she was close to Tim.

Tim frowned slightly, but let go of Fernanda's neck.

Fernanda whispered, "Do you know how much I envy Evelyn for having a wealthy family? If I had a
family like hers, would you marry me now?"

"You were nothing compared to Evelyn. The beauty and kindness of Evelyn are something that you
can't have in your life. If you want to be Martha's stooge, then be it. Just don't regret it. But as you
harmed Nicole, even if I can forgive you, Samuel will never let you get away."

Tim's words made Fernanda tremble.



She suddenly wanted to commit suicide by biting her tongue. But Tim stopped her by breaking her jaw.

"You're an adult. Adults have to pay for their mistakes. You should have realized it the moment you
harmed Nicole."

After saying that, Tim took Fernanda out.

He carried Fernanda on his shoulders. But before he could walk out of the slum, a few mercenaries
with guns stood in his way.

"Mr. Tim, Ms. Martha wants to see you."

"I'm not going."

Tim knew who they were talking about. If he could, he never wanted to be Martha's son.

That was why he had sent Evelyn to another place.

Martha was obviously aimed at the Mason's sea route. If Evelyn was caught by Martha, the Masons
