Chapter 1808 Could You Help Me, Lucas

Seeing that Lucas was a little confused, Joseph quite had a sense of accomplishment, and he was
even more excited than that of completely researching a topic.

“Well, you can take your time to think. I’ll treat your wound.”

Joseph opened the medical kit and began to treat Lucas’s wound.

Lucas did not cry out in pain but his body was tense, which portrayed how much it hurt.

Yasmeen ran all the way back to her own ward, closed the door and bawled after covering herself in
the quilt.

She was with the extreme grievance and her entire person was feeling bad. But, she could do nothing
when facing Lucas. After all, it was indeed her who started to chase him.

But when she thought about Reece who had said that he wanted to cut all ties and be even with her
and so that they did not owe each other anything, she felt as if her chest was torn open. The pain was
excruciating.

Twenty years.

It was an obsession but also deep love.

She would die without Lucas.

Yasmeen did not know how long she had cried. She fell asleep amid crying. She slept especially
soundly as if she was completely exhausted. She did not want to think about anything and was just
feeling bad because of the exhaustion.



Whilst she was sleeping, Lucas came. When he saw Yasmeen’s reddened eyes upon crying, he
personally went to apply an ice compress to her eyes and stayed with her for a while. If Jaydon had not
come to him for something important, he probably would not have left so soon.

Ashley did not comment anything after she learnt about what happened between Lucas and Yasmeen
but when she was looking at Lucas, her eyes seemingly looked as if she was pondering about
something.

Patrick felt somewhat sorry for Lucas.

He came to Lucas’s room and saw that Lucas was handling something. He initially intended to leave
but Lucas noticed him.

“Anything?”

“Nothing, I’m just bored so I want to talk with you.”

Patrick walked in carelessly and casually. Seeing Lucas meticulously handling the business matters, he
could not help but admire him slightly.

“Don’t you have a headache watching so many numbers?”

“If you had younger siblings, you would know that there is no way to escape and refrain from some
matters because once you escape, your younger siblings will be miserable.”

Lucas replied indifferently.

Patrick froze suddenly.

He thought of Yasmeen and Jasmine.



Although Yasmeen had been staying overseas all these years, she handled quite a number of things
for her father, not to mention Jasmine, who was almost equivalent to a diplomat. Only he and his elder
brother lived as they wished. Upon hearing Lucas say so, Patrick turned to look at Lucas while he was
introspecting inwardly.

This man was really sticking up for his elder sister all the time. He was actually also alluding to him that
he should be the one who felt sorry for his elder sister in the future.

Patrick’s expression had a slight change. He casually sat down beside Lucas and sensitively smelled
the medical water on Lucas.

“Did you deliberately make my elder sister cry?”

“Why do you think so? Maybe it’s because your father beat me up and I intended to retaliate so I
deliberately stimulated your elder sister?”

Lucas threw back a question indifferently.

When Patrick saw that there was food on the side, he casually picked up an orange and peeled it.

“Impossible. The man my elder sister likes won’t be so bad, otherwise, she wouldn’t have chased you
for so many years.”

Neither Lucas could refute nor praise.



He abruptly felt that Patrick was actually not as careless as he appeared, at least he had full
unconditional trust for his family.

This made Lucas very satisfied.

“Won’t you be afraid that your mother will be unhappy upon knowing that you come to me?”

“Whether she is happy or unhappy does not depend on whether I come to you or not, but depends on
the thought extension about you stealing her daughter from her. So, whether or not I’ve come, it
actually can’t change anything.”

Patrick said while glancing at the things on Lucas’s computer screen. He could not help but narrow his
eyes.

“Lucas, you’re engaging in venture capital. This isn’t the property of Green Group, right?”

“Yeah, I’m just engaging in it for fun.”

Lucas was not afraid of Patrick.

Patrick suddenly became interested.

“Lucas, could you teach me?”

“Interested?”

Lucas was slightly surprised.

With the status of the Bradford family in Country Y, even if Patrick did nothing, he could still be a trust
fund baby and lead a luxurious lifestyle. No one would dare to criticize him. Besides, Patrick was really
a bit too careless and he was not much involved in politics. His achievement was almost nothing
compared to Norman.

“Of course, I like money. I like the feeling of earning it myself.”

Patrick was somewhat eager to try.

Lucas smiled and said, “Earning money is not something everyone can do.”

“Okay, I’ll find some books for you to read later. Come to me after you understand. You may also
consult me if you don’t understand.”

liking.

Patrick left joyfully. Lucas originally wanted to go and see Yasmeen but thinking that Ashley should be
there at this time, he did not get up and continued to work.

She glared at Patrick with some anger and said, “Where did you go to?”

“I just went to walk around. I was bored to stay in the room and I’ve bought some delicious food for my
elder sister.”

After saying that, Patrick handed over the apple in his hand.

Yasmeen felt a wave of warmth.

“My younger brother is always the best as you know I love apples.”

As Yasmeen said that, she was about to take it but she heard Patrick say, “I didn’t know though.
Brother-in-law had someone buy it and I brought it over incidentally.”

“Brother-in-law?”

Ashley suddenly felt that this address was a little harsh.

This brat did it on purpose, right?

Whereas, Yasmeen was stunned because of this address. Although she felt sweet inwardly,
remembering Lucas’s attitude, the excitement in her heart slightly reduced.

“Don’t address him like that first. It isn’t appropriate.”

“What is the inappropriate part?”



Patrick put the apple on the table and spoke indifferently, “Not many men can withstand our dad’s whip.
Lucas is considered one of them. Before he came back, he was having a high fever and after he came
back, he was busy arranging your surgery and even deliberately made you angry despite his infected
wound, so that you could vent all the anxiety and apprehension in the past period so you wouldn’t be
emotionally unstable before surgery and recover slowly after surgery. He insisted on doing that despite
knowing you would misunderstand. Now, he has to endure all the pain of the whip injury and still has to
handle your surgery arrangements. If such a man can’t become my brother-in-law, I guess no one in
this world is competent to be your husband.”

Yasmeen’s face turned a little pale after hearing Patrick’s words. She suddenly remembered the fact
that there were injuries on Lucas’s body. She directly lifted the blanket and ran out.

Patrick’s lips slightly curled but he was forcefully slapped from behind.
