Chapter 1651 How Dare You!

Xander’s speech made Cody even more anxious.

“I don’t understand what you mean.”

“You don’t? At first, I don’t understand why someone would test our blood before we took on a mission.
Back then, even though we thought it was strange, we didn’t think twice about it until we found out this
whole thing was a scam that trapped us soldiers on the battlefield and took us away. I knew there was
something wrong with the blood test.”

Cody changed his facial expressions as he listened to Xander.

He continued, “Then I saw Elvis. I kind of had the idea about what happened, but I didn’t realize you
were behind all of this and he was working for you. That cage deprived us of our dignity and right to
live. Even though Mr. Kent died for me, I guessed that was the reason why you started to pay attention
to my daughter Nicole?

“You thought it was me who died. Because of the special blood of the Kent family, you kept an eye on
my daughter. But due to Samuel, you couldn’t make it too obvious. So you used everyone available to
do the job for you, including Harper Town and Martin. In the beginning, I found it strange that the word
about the lode of the Harper Town got out so easily.”

“That lode is on the back hill of the Harper Town. People of that town usually wouldn’t go there.
Generations of people didn’t know about the lode. How would Zama’s generation know about this?
There’s only one reasonable explanation. Somebody told them that. The discovery of the lode was the
reason why the Harper Town was at the risk of getting destroyed.”

“And how could you do achieve your goal without being noticed? They must be too busy solving their
own problems to have an eye on you. That’s why my daughter could be safe under Samuel’s protection
even though she has been caught up in all kinds of situations. Later you knew that I was saved by the



authorities and started to work for them. And you also knew that it was not me but Mr. Kent who died.
So you started the investigation on Laurence. After all, Laurence has been a sample of the experiment
ever since his mother got pregnant. He manages to survive and control his Berserk Gene, which is why
he is of great importance to your research. Meanwhile, you wouldn’t let my grandson alone because of
his blue eyes and my once special blood. You rather not take any risks than letting my grandson have a
happy and free childhood, right?”

Hearing his words, Cody was shocked.

“Did you guess that or do you have any proof?”

“I don’t have any evidence and I don’t plan to do anything to you. For now, I just want my family to live
a safe life. So, Mr. Shaffer, don’t push me. I just want my grandson to be safe.”

Cody was stunned.

He frowned and thought for a while.

Xander had known so much that Cody started to be afraid!

He could assume what had happened twenty years ago. But he had no proof. But who could guarantee
that he wouldn’t find any in the future?”

“Xander, you should know that you are in my house. I’m the boss here!”

“So what? Do I look like a coward?”

Xander unbuttoned his coat and there was a bomb attached to his chest.

“Holy crap!”

Cody tumbled and fell to the ground. He was sweating.



“Xander, are you mad?”

“I want my grandson back! Otherwise, we can die together!”

Xander didn’t look like he was joking.

His eyes were red and he looked like a maniac.

Cody’s heart was pounding.

He mustn’t die!

Right now he had got money and fame. He had a good life ahead of him and he really didn’t wanna die.

“Fine! I’ll do whatever you want. Put the bomb away!”

“I wanna see my grandson first!”

Xander wouldn’t budge.

At this point, he didn’t care about death.

He had already written his will. Even if Cody didn’t want to give Eaton back, he would just blow this
place up, which would draw Morty’s attention. Morty definitely would break in.

Also, everybody saw him follow Cody. If he died, the Shaffer family couldn’t explain his death away.

Of course, Cody had thought about that.

He was unwilling to surrender but he didn’t dare to put his own life in danger. He had to do what he
wanted.

Eaton was curling up, sleeping. He was frowning and he looked very uncomfortable.



“What did you do to him?”

“I didn’t have the time to do something yet. I just drew a little his blood and did some test for research.”

Cody's words made Xander’s eyes even redder.

“He’s just one year old and you drew his blood just for research?”

Cody definitely did more than drew a little blood. No one knew how much he drew better than Xander.

For them, people were mere objects of the research.

They wouldn’t treat the objects as human beings!

They kept drawing their blood like it was free and didn’t mind that it might kill them.

At this moment, seeing Eaton’s pale face, Xander was so mad that he kicked Cody in his chest.

“Asshole!”

Cody was caught off guard and fell to the ground. Every part of his body was aching.

“Xander, how dare you! Do it again and I’ll kill your grandson right now!”

“If you lay a finger on him, I’ll make your whole family pay for it!”

Xander punched him in Cody’s face.

“Oh!”

Cody felt his mouth was aching and two of his teeth fell off. He was picked up by Xander before he
could spit the blood. His feet were off the ground.



“No, no, no! Mr. Don! My father is Chad Shaffer! Mr. Hill trusts him the most! If you kill me, your
daughter and your son-in-law will get in big trouble! And your grandson Lucas will never be able to
have a military career anymore!”

Xander felt his chest was about to explode but what Chad said got him thinking. He had to consider
Lucas’ future.

He tossed Cody’s body and kicked the person who held Eaton. He reached out and held Eaton in his
arms.

“Cody, if anything happens to my grandson, I’ll kill the whole Shaffer family!”

After that, Xander ran out of the room. He was at the door before Cody realized.

Cody was moaning out of pain and didn’t have the energy to chase Xander. He glared at him and
yelled.

“Find me a hitman who can kill this freak!”
